The Health Group embodies the ambition of interdisciplinary research bringing together physicists, biologists and physicians.
The main objective of this group is to develop new instrumental, methodological and theoretical approaches to improve the exploration and understanding of living organisms and to strengthen the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, particularly in cancer and neuroscience.
Its activities are based on skills that cover a wide range of activities (from basic research to innovation, including pre-clinical and clinical studies and state-of-the-art instrumental developments). Historically initiated within the IN2P3 community, these developments naturally fall within the field of ionizing radiation, but also find their extensions in the field of optics and theoretical physics.
The main research areas that structure the scientific activities of the group are:
- Imaging,
- Modeling,
- Radiotherapy.
